They are huge and happen to be the perfect size for the base.

See the work in progress here. Unfortunately I've lost the original photo with a phone malfunction.
After:
The base is one of the giant golf ball racks. The rest is wood from white shelves that I had in a shop in Oklahoma years ago, and scrap wood from the interior of our current house (from a current tear out project). If you look closely you can see spots for a door hinge or even a lock.
This project was so much fun and made me realize that I'm happiest when I am building something. It took me forever to post this but hey, better late than never right?
