DIY Jean Re-do

So, I was inspired from this photo I found on Pinterest.

These shorts below are too long for summer and the hot KC weather.  They hit me right beneath the knee and aren't comfortable. 
Within 5 minutes...I had these.

I will probably eventually cut them a bit shorter, but I figured I better try it first and leave some room for error in case I screwed them up!
 Use something easy for your pattern.  I used the bottom of this glue bottle.  Cut the desired length first. The pen didn't work...so I switched to a sharpie.  Way better.
Draw out your pattern, cut,  and blammo.  You have new shorts.
Pardon the small child.  They also look pretty cute rolled up just once.

  4. So cute! My only problem is how do you keep them from fraying if you wash them? Don't wash them I suppose, it would be worth it because they're so cute! :)

  6. I have not washed them yet...but will def have to. I guess if i don't like fray I can cut it off. I wonder if fray check would keep it from fraying???
