Thrifted Thursday-via a garage sale!

I love the summer! Mostly for garage sales and swimming pools.  Thrift stores continue to raise their prices, so these are the months I try to hit garage sales.  Great stuff, super cheap (most of the time).  I do the slow drive by first...I only get out if I (or my kids) spot something good from the curb.  That something could be a sweet little old lady sitting in a lawn chair.  I know I have to stop there, because I adore older lady's and I love their stuff.  I think they like it too, because of the pure joy on my face.  Plus they like kids.  Estate sales do not like children.  Which is a bummer, because I used to love estate sales.  The mean women turned me off.

I couldn't believe these cute baby clothes!
 vintage slips.
 tons of great fabric.

a chenille rug.
 and these two candle holders.

Are you ready for the best part?  Total spent: $11.10   Yes, you read that correct.  I would have posted the $2 vintage wooden record shelf...but I didn't grab it when I first saw it.  I walked around the corner and when I came back...gone!  Ugh.  Oh well, I couldn't be too mad!  I hit a couple more sales but I will save that booty for another post!

What did you find?

xoxo,
Amy

  2. That stack of fabric is awesome! I have a pretty good amount of vintage fabric and I don't know what to do with it but I'd like to maybe reupholster a stool or something with some. I can't believe you only spent 11 bucks! I love a garage sale ran by an old lady. I do the drive by too and if I see mainly kid stuff I just keep going. But if I spot an old lady, I know I'm going to score big and find some amazing stuff. They do always seem appreciative that someone else really loves their things and finds them beautiful too. Those baby clothes are really cute too. I would die if I found all that glassware! So pretty! Great finds :)

  3. Wow, nice deal! I haven't been thrifting in a while (I've actually been selling because I have too much stuff!), but I did hit up some garage sales for the first time a while ago. It was fun meeting all sorts of quirky people. I bought a cute dress off someone for a buck, but I neglected to notice it has to be dry-cleaned. Meehhhh.
