DIY Headboard

You might remember my headboard wish list I posted about here.  After moving we found some things in storage we completely forgot about.  Like two enormous golf ball racks we bought at a garage sale many years ago.

They are huge and happen to be the perfect size for the base.
Before:

See the work in progress here.  Unfortunately I've lost the original photo with a phone malfunction.
After:
The base is one of the giant golf ball racks. The rest is wood from white shelves that I had in a shop in Oklahoma years ago, and scrap wood from the interior of our current house (from a current tear out project).   If you look closely you can see spots for a door hinge or even a lock.

This project was so much fun and made me realize that I'm happiest when I am building something.  It took me forever to post this but hey, better late than never right?

Hope everyone has a great Saturday.

xoxo,
Amy

Friday Faves- The Headboard

I've had a headboard on my mind for a while.   In our last house we had this weird window over our bed and never had one.  I have a ton of scrap wood and badly want to make my own.  I'm in love with just about everything Heathrsmith on Instagram makes.  Not sure if she has a website but the pieces she makes are absolutely beautiful.  Here's some more of my inspo:

I'm off to hang up some birdhouses that I've had in boxes for a while and try to find some motivation to clean house.  Happy Friday!
