Do you ever set goals only to realize 6 months later you've accomplished none? Yeah, me too. These are a few I had in mind back in January. I've pretty much done none. Not a one (at least consistently). Summer is here, I bought a swimsuit for the first time since my daughter was born without getting the body first. Oh well, call it motivation. Anyways, I am putting this out there now. I'm going to do it. Maybe not everything, but I am giving it a go. It's June 1st. 1/2 way through 2012. Better late than never right?
I set a lot of goals on random notepads but never really go back and cross them off my list so sometimes I feel like I am spinning my wheels, while in reality I am still accomplishing my dreams...albeit a little bit slower than I'd like. I took the Dream Job course from Red Velvet Art and I realize I need to continue making these lists, but cross them off, reward myself and keep it moving. I tend to bite off more than I can chew. I definitely did it this year, but summer is here and we are slowing down a bit so I figured it's a good time to regroup and get back to some goals for me.
If this post inspires you to set some of your own goals I'd love to hear about them. I love reading other peoples goals, it's so inspiring and motivating!
Tomorrow my beautiful cousin Shelley from Crazy Wonderful will be here. I am so excited I could pee myself. I just might.
Happy Friday!
xoxo,
Amy
This is like reading about myself - I am the goal setting queen! I am an absolute champion at setting goals, writing action plans, sussing out resources to help me achieve my goals. I have notepads and spreadsheets and a motivation board with my goals in art form. I can set goals like nobodys business! Actually complete them? Not so much..

I seriously almost peed myself on the way up here today, I had to go BAD and was lamenting not having Izzy's travel potty, ha! Which reminds me of when I was pregnant with her and you told me about sneezing and peeing. At the time I thought to myself, "That's hilarious, but I can't see it happening" Only to pee all over myself a couple days later when I coughed :D
ReplyDeleteI was making lists and crossing them off like a pro while classes ere in session, but now that it's summer, my lists remain unchecked. I've pretty much turned into a ball of un-productivity! :P Best of luck with those goals.

You and me both! I can totally relate to your great post. The mind is willing but the spirit is weak.
ReplyDeleteJust followed you on Google Friend Connect. Hope I get a follow back. Thank you! :)

I liked reading your goal list, sounds a bit like mine, the drink more water and the 200 sit ups part. Apparently it takes 21 days to break a habbit, I wonder if I did 200 sit ups for 21 days would I be a convert for life? Imagine the abs! At the start of the year my goal was to paint more, I've done 4 paintings so far this year....could definitely paint more and read blogs less! Good luck with getting the goals back on track x
ReplyDeleteI love setting goals but I think sometimes our hearts want more than we can handle. Your goals are all great ones, and definitely reachable (especially the drinking more water one. everyone can benefit from that tremendously!) you should pick out a few that way they're more attainable :)
ReplyDeletegood luck, girl! I have to say, I'm smitten with your blog. Your header is so seriously awesome. :)

better late than never indeed! good luck reaching your goals. i like the idea of mid-year goals instead of new year goals as the new year is such a busy time. one of my goals is to do my tae bo 5 days a week. thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteall of these goals are very attainable. you have definitely motivated me to take a look at my short-term goal list to see how much progress i've made (or not made)!

I just looked at my 2012 goals too. Some need to get completely erased from the list, others need some tweaking since I've fallen down a bit but still want to accomplish them, and some I've actually taken care of so far!
ReplyDeleteChecking things off a list definitely feels good and helps you move on to the next to-do item. :)
I love your goals and hope you keep up the motivation! Talking about it right now is half the battle!
And...go have that party with balloons and cupcakes and girlfriends! :)
