Hot tub time machine

I have such happy memories of these plastic little pools from childhood.  Of course my son thought it looked lame, but ended up loving it.  It's the little things in life.

Some of you are probably wondering why I would put this on my driveway.  #1 I hate mosquitos, #2 no mud or grass in the pool, #3 it gets shade all day.  As long as the kids don't get stooopid and try a triple double back flip...no one gets hurt, only minor dunking.
all of this above =
this.  Tired babies.

Vintage Sheets to Jumper

I found a cute little jumper at the DAV and knew it was going to be too small for my ginormous two year old...the voice of (un)reason in my head said buy it, and who am I to not listen to the voice in my head.  I took it home, and used it as a guide to make another one out of vintage sheets.
I really must do a better job of measuring twice and cutting once, but quite frankly that's not how I roll.  I had to make some minor adjustments but am overall happy with how it turned out.  I call it my prototype, so the next one will hopefully be better.
The model was a little unruly and showed a bit of bad behavior.  These were the best photos I could get. She also shows signs of being a diva.  If she weren't so darn cute I might have to consider hiring another one.    But she works for milk and cheese and gives the best hugs and kisses....so, i guess I'll give her another chance.

A is for Awesome...and Amy...and Ampersand

Amy (doesn't she have a cool name) over at A is for Ampersand has an awesome blog and if you are supersmart you will most def go check it out.  I fell in love at first sight of it.  She is always posting great free blog downloads and ahhhmazing thrifted treasures.  I found these banners over there.

Click here to check out the post...and download the goodness!  Did I mention it is a free download?  Yeah, free and awesome.  Doesn't get much better.  I am recouperating from my annual girls weekend at the lake...and it is going to be an early night!  It still hurts a little bit...but was well worth it.

Das Booty

Here is a little sneak peek at this weeks goodies. I think I am going to have to take a little break from thrifting...I have weeks worth of Etsy updating and I have told myself numerous times to cool it, until I get caught up...but really who am I kidding. There is a Catholic Charities a couple blocks from my work and I can be there in the time it takes me to eat my PB and J.
Without further ado...this weeks treasures.
This vintage hamper is too cute.
I love that it still has this original little tag.
see the pattern in the vinyl?  Adore!
And I have the perfect little spot for it next to our gigantic bathroom...that we all share.  I am certainly going to miss the old hamper though...you know, the floor, the dining room table and chairs, the laundry shoot (which means throwing dirty clothes down the stairs for me to pick up later)....ahhh.
a big (like 7 ft. big) cotton and lace tablecoth, another vintage sheet (because one can never have too many) and nylon gloves!  Swooooon.
 this cute dress...
with little spades and a ruffled neck and cuffs.
a leather clutch.  Because like vintage sheets, one cannot have too many leather clutches.
a plaid skirt for the stinker.
and this cute little jumper for her (praying that she is not too long for it!)
Yarn was 50 cents for 3 balls (balls). Too bad i don't have one of these...
Tote Bag
from here
Sorry, couldn't resist.
 a cameo!
 And it's a locket!
this ring, there was probably a stone in it, but I like the style and the price was right.
and last but not least this little treasure.  Happy Sunday ya'll.
Don't forget about the giveaway here.  I'm picking a winner Monday.  And, don't forget to check out the "i like to party" link to see where I'm linking up.

NO, I love you more!

I cannot believe that I have reached 100 followers.
At first I did one of these...
and then one of these...

I have been thrifting and crafting since highschool and this little blog started because I wanted to share some of my fabs finds and little projects.  And, since I don't scrapbook, it's also my way of watching my little ankle biters grow, and recording the mayhem of it all.

Soooo, to show you how much I appreciate all of you, and your lovely comments, I wanted to give you something from the heart and made with love.

These crocheted coasters I blogged about the other day.  Since this was the post that put me to the 100 followers mark, I figured I would give them away.
and because I love mine so much, I thought I would throw in one of these  a grown up friendship bracelet.

here's how to enter...

1. Become a follower and simply leave a comment, and tell me your favorite crafting pastime...not a crafter?...what's your favorite thing to do to get away from it all?  (if you are a new follower, be sure to tell me in your comment!)

2. To DOUBLE your chances, post this on your blog or facebook (and be sure and leave that in your comment too!)

3.  To TRIPLE your chances, like Green Eggs and Hamm on facebook.

4. To QUADRUPLE your chances come clean my house....hahahaha I kid.  I love you all way too much for that!

Thanks again everyone, for following and sharing all the craft/thrift love.  Momma loves you!

PS. I will select one lucky winner Monday July 11th!

Sunday Funday

Wanna see something cute?  Do ya?  Cannot believe what I spotted today thrifting.  The kids wanted to go to the toy store...it rained most of the day here...we compromised and went thrifting instead.
at first I thought it was just a cute little suitcase.
 cute huh?
instead it was this adorable little picnic set.
this tablecloth has anthropolgie written all over it.  The colors, the scalloped edges...it will be staying with me for a bit.
six crocheted place mats.  I have been on the lookout for place mats so I was extra thrilled.
 some pretty vintage fabric.
a sweet little painting. I love vintage paintings.  I passed up a another one that I may have to go back and get if it stays on the brain.  It was a hand painted...not so perfect and of the Virgin Mary and baby Jesus.  The imperfections are what I adore.
and vintage sheets.  My daughter needs clothes desperately so I have plans for these.  Having plans and getting something accomplised are two totally different things though.  Happy 4th everyone.  Try to keep all your fingers.  And remember, the black cats ignite much quicker than the red ones.  I learned the hard way back in the day.  Most likely it was my brothers fault.

Linking up again! Linking up check out the "I like to party" link page, and here, come join the fun. I love meeting new crafters and dumpster divers.

to celebrate my 100 followers I am giving something away over here.
